Mission Viejo Day 4

My 100 back was alright. I went 1:06.49 and managed to get a second swim, but it was far from great. And then I came back and swam 200 IM about 45mins later and went 2:26.21. My fly split was slow, but alright , but the back and breast splits were atrocious. I ended it well with my freestyle, but it was still too slow overall. I ended up 30th.
In finals I went 1:06.30 in the 100 back and it was basically the same swim as the morning.

The night before I swam on the 4x200 freestyle relay and my split was 2:09.4, but my first 50 was 28.3, which was faster than my first 50 of my 100 free. But unfortunately one of my teammates false started, so our relay was disqualified.

This morning we are training at the pool that we raced at, and then heading home.

Mission Viejo Day 3 Prelims

This morning I swam the 200 breast and it went decent. I went 2:43.06, with all my splits being really nice and even. I was just too slow for my first 50. Unfortunately I just missed out on finals, ending up in 26th spot. So I am hoping for a scratch. But even if they do not scratch I have a spot on the 4x200 freestyle relay with Calgary tonight. Although I had to argue my way onto it I think it well go quite well, if my 100 was any indicator.
Otherwise I will be getting ready for my 100 back and 200 IM tomorrow morning.
On the bright side the weather is fantastic and warming up in a training bikini is so AWESOME!

Mission Viejo Day 2

This morning was very overcast for warm up and it was chilly enough to have to wear pants and a sweater, but it cleared up nicely and the sun came out before I raced.
I swam the 100 free, and it went really well! I was out 28.6 and finished at 59.8, very close to a best time and it felt good. I just had too high a stroke rate at the beginning.
My next race was the 200 back. It was not a good race. I was fine to the 100, right with the leaders in the fastest heat. And then I dropped way off in my third 50 and was slower than I go for my breaststroke split in my 200 IM. 39.8.....not much could happen when I go that slow for a 50. So, my final time was 2:26.8
I did not make any second swims and I will go back to the pool to prepare for tomorrow's 200 breast.

Mission Viejo Day 1

The first session of the meet is over. full results can be found here.
I did not race tonight, but I was able to get some great pictures of the people who were in the distance races. I just went in for a warm up and then a fast 50 to prepare for tomorrow. I am swimming 100 free and 200 back tomorrow.
We just rested today and then went out for dinner at the Olive Garden, where we did more laughing than eating. Always good to do before a race with lots of abs needed in the underwater.
Now off to an early bed tonight for extra speed tomorrow!

Mission Viejo Safe and Sound

Arrived in Cali this morning without a hitch, all ready for Swim Meet of Champions which starts tomorrow, but I don't swim until Friday. We got in for a quick loosen swim and the Calgary team swam when we did, so it was nice to get to see everyone. Then we checked into our hotel and napped before dinner.
Then back to the pool in the morning for a swim, and some cheering at night for our sole PSW distance swimmer!!
